Economic Planning Secretary, State Department for Economic Planning

Ms. Katherine Muoki was appointed to the position of Economic Planning Secretary (EPS) on 8th July, 2020. She is the first female to hold this position. As EPS, Ms. Muoki is responsible for coordinating National and Sectoral Planning through providing leadership and guiding the Economists at the State Department for Economic Planning, Ministries and State Departments as well as the National Planning offices at the County level. Ms. Muoki holds a Bachelor of Education Degree (1st Class Honours) and a Masters of Arts (Economics) Degree from the University of Nairobi. Ms. Muoki has a wealth of experience in National and Sectoral Development Planning and Economic Policy Formulation. She was a member of the think tank that initiated the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) Budgeting Process. Ms. Muoki has also served in various Boards. She is also a recipient of two (2) State Awards; Head of State Commendation (HSC) in 2013 and Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) in 2016.
