Official Opening of the 2022 SDGs National Multi-Stakeholders Conference

Economic Planning Secretary, Madam Katherine Muoki officially opening the 2022 Sustainable Development Goals National Multi-Stakeholders Conference on behalf of the National Treasury and Economic Planning Cabinet Secretary , Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u in Mombasa County. The Conference begins today 30th November and ends on 2nd December, 2022.

This Conference is the fifth in a series of Annual Conferences since 2018.

The main objective of the conference is to provide an opportunity to all stakeholders to share good practices and experiences which can be replicated and scaled up in the effort to accelerate the implementation of the SDGs in the context of interlocking challenges.

At the core of the SDGs is a reflection of the aspirations of millions of people across the globe for a world they want. The civil societies, development partners, and other stakeholders continue to show unprecedented commitment and dynamism towards the implementation of SDGs across the world. This participatory and an all inclusive approach is necessitated by the adoption of the Multi-Stakeholder engagement, a key principle of the Agenda in its clarion call of leaving no one behind.

Meanwhile the Economic Planning Secretary has also launched the Sustainable Development Goals Recovery and Acceleration Strategy. The National Treasury and Economic Planning developed the strategy in order to fast track implementation of SDGs and ensure attainment by 2030.
