SDGS Strategy Development Retreat

The Chief Administrative Secretary, National Treasury and Planning, Eric Simiyu Wafukho, is this morning performing the duty of opening the Government’s SDGs Recovery and Acceleration Strategy planning retreat in Naivasha. The retreat has brought together stakeholders from both the public private sectors, the civil society, academia and the development partners including UNDP.
According to the 2020 Voluntary National Review (VNR) Report that was presented to the UN member States earlier during the 2020 High Level Political Forum by the CS for Treasury and Planning, Amb. Ukur Yatani, good progress has been made by Kenya in SDG 3(Health), SDG 4(Education), SDG 6(Provision of clean water and sanitation), SDG 7(Access to clean and affordable energy) and SDG 11(ensuring sustainable cities and communities).    Through continuous awareness creation, capacity building programmes and collaborative efforts of all stakeholders under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta, the country has been better positioned.
The meeting has also been addressed by EPS Katherine Muoki, UNDP representative Mbeki Pembe and UNDP Resident Coordinator Representative Julius Chokera.
